What is Closing of The Bones?
The Closing of the Bones is a traditional ritual of honouring, release, and return — a ceremonial tending of body, heart, and spirit. Rooted in the lineage of the Mexican parteras (midwives) and lovingly passed forward through generations, it is a ritual of gathering back what has been scattered, of coming home to self.
Though woven from ancient tradition, each ceremony unfolds uniquely — meeting every woman exactly where she is. In the ways of traditional midwifery, blockages—whether mental, physical, or spiritual—are seen as colds, places where our life-force has slowed or stilled. Through gentle touch, wrapping, sound, and warmth, these places are invited to transform — tended into fire, the very flame of strength born from our struggles.
It is a ceremony of renewal. A time to be held, to soften, to be witnessed. A return to the hearth within — to your centre, your stillness, your embodied knowing.

Personally, the diversity and potency of raw, unhinged emotions that surfaced throughout felt equally matched to the potency of Jess and Stephy’s ability to hold a safe, nurturing container of love. Six months later, the effects of the ceremony are still within my bones and soul. It was truly an otherworldly experience that gave me strength and feminine empowerment to face and embrace what being in this world as a mother requires of us.

You receive the full ceremony held by the two of us in sacred service to your becoming.
Option 2: Community-Supported Ceremony
You are welcome to invite a circle of your trusted women to be part of the experience — not only as witnesses, but as active participants in the ritual. We will guide and hold them as they support you.
In this case, you may choose to invite your community to contribute a donation toward your ceremony as part of the energetic exchange. This can make the ceremony more accessible while expanding its impact — the ripples will move through all who attend.
